UDYAMI ADIVASI VIKAS KENDRA (UAVK), a grass root level women lead voluntary organization was established in the year 2009 with the noble aim of upliftment of socially downtrodden communities belonging to both rural & urban area, inclusive of the tribal communities of Jharkhand. UAVK, an institution was promoted by a group of young social workers and intellectuals, deeply involved in the development of poor residing in far-off and socially neglected area. It today acts as a catalyst and has deep rooted reach to geographically far-off places for developing self-reliance among the poor and neglected frame work. It interacts with the communities and helps them implement development program and also supplement the effort of govt. as well as other development agencies. It works for the total development of the society through honest concern for human being. The organization integrated approach towards helping the integrated development of the women, Children as well as at risk population has brought about returns. UAVK believes that no developmental activities could be possible unless bread coverage of human population form all barriers of development of cultural & structural aspects of social change. The organization stands for promoting social, economic & political justice to all women irrespective of caste, creed, colour, religion or language. The organization aims at empowering the poor rural women through organization building, promotion in decision making, as well as participation in the developmental activities at the grass root level.
UAVK has been registered under 'Societies Registration Act 1860' by department of Registration Government of Jharkhand having Registration No. 228/2009-2010 dated 27th August, 2009. It has been registered under PAN, 12A and 80G of IT Act, 1961 and have been registered under the 'FCRA Act 2010' having vide Registration No. 337800218 having Renewal date 27th June, 2023. Apart from this UAVK has too been registered under CSR-1 & NGO Darpan having Unique ID No- JH/2018/0197007 as per norms of NITI AYOG, Government of India.
UAVK started its journey from couple of villages of Ratu Block of Ranchi District, Jharkhand. Gradually it occupies and extends it services to more villages & blocks of Ranchi, Bokaro Ramgarh & East Singhbhum Districts, Jharkhand. Gradually covering numbers of villages in these blocks and developed good contacts and rapport with the village community. UAVK is presently working in 120 villages spread over in 25 Gram Panchayats reaching out more than 5000 households of underprivileged and marginalized communities. Minorities, Tribals, Paharias, STs, SCs, OBCs, Rural youth, Disabled, deprived women, child labor and other children as well as the artisan are our focused primary target groups for whom we deliver our social services. Education, Health, Anti-drug abuse campaign, Conservation of Environment, Plantation and Forestry, Agriculture development, Safe Drinking water and safe Sanitation, Skill Development & Livelihood Promotion etc. practices are out core focused issues / Programs delivered to nurture, strengthen and empower. School and College Dropout girls and boys, victims' girls and boys of child labor and rural people unaware of various aspects as well as schemes of their development have been also given priority as target groups. It has also been very cautious in trying to understand the pros and cons of the development efforts made by different stakeholders including research institutes and undertake study projects to know more about the natural resources, its management.
We plan our activities based on analysis of the socio-economic contexts and the community dynamics of the area, with emphasis on community empowerment. Our programs are unique in the sense as it is basically directed towards involving Community Based Organizations in every aspect including project planning, implementation, monitoring and management.
